Samira Said has become much more than a notable figure in the music industry. She rose quickly to the first rank of Arabic song and has remained there for a generation. Each new album reinforces her position.
Samira Said made her first big stage at the Eurovision song contest 1980 in the Netherlands and represented the Morocco, that was the only Arab country to have participated so far.
In her early years, she was strongly influenced by the artists Baligh Hamdi, Abdelwahab, Mohamed El Mougi, Sayed Mekaouni, and Faiza Ahmad and Mohamed Soltan.
These experiences led Samira to Cairo where she established herself as preeminent in Arabic music. Demand for her music is as great now as ever. In 2006, she again struck gold with "Kolena Enssan" [All Human] a new song for Africa of the Nations and she sings it in French, English, and Arabic. "Kolena Enssan" debuted at the opening of the C.A.N. in Cairo in the summer of 2006, And her performance at Casablanca on July 21-22 won her the accolade, Queen of Casablanca. On November 4, she took part in the Concert for Tolerance in Agadir, Morocco, where she performed with many international artists.
She 's back in 2008 with a new album 'Ayam Hayati' [Days of my life], very creative and different of all others albums , that was a big success and was on top of sales!
She won 2 awards in 2008, a MEMA award, middle eastern music award for the new 'Ayam Hayati' in Egypt and a GOLDEN RABAB award in Morocco, for the Moroccan Women Festival.

Samira Said, exigences de la scène obligent, a fait plus que marquer. Elle s'est hissée, à force d'acharnement, au premier rang des stars de la chanson arabe et y demeure depuis des années renforcant à chaque nouvel album une position quelle ne semble pas prête de quitter.
Le chemin semble avoir été tracé de tous temps. Des premiers pas prometteurs, Samira Said a fait sa première grande scène à l'Eurovision de 1980 aux Pays-Bas et representait le Maroc, c'est le seul et unique pays arabe à avoir participé jusqu'ici. Elle a également fait des rencontres marquantes, notamment celles de Baligh Hamdi, Abdelwahab, Mohamed El Mougi, Sayed Mekaoui ainsi que Faiza Ahmad Mohamed Soltan, et voila Samira qui débarque au Caire, forte d'un immense talent et des encouragements de ceux qui avaient cru en elle.
En 2006 Samira chante une nouvelle chanson en francais, anglais et arabe pour la coupe d'Afrique des nations, elle l'a également chantée à l'ouverture de la C.A.N au stade du Caire. Ete 2006 Samira se fait nommée 'la reine de Casablanca' après la réussite de ses deux concerts lors du festival de Casablanca le 21 et 22 Juillet. Le 04 Novembre 2006 Samira Said à participé à un évènement international, un concert pour la tolérance à Agadir au Maroc avec plusieurs artistes venus de partout.
Elle revient en 2008 avec un nouvel album 'Ayam Hayati' [Jours de ma vie], un album très different des précédents et très creatif, ce fût un grand succés et il fut aussi tôt dans le top des ventes!
